Born in Germany, Dieter S. Weiß is an upcoming classical guitarist.
He took his first guitar lessons at the
Musikschule
Lörrach (Germany). After only 3 years he moved to Stuttgart
to take private lessons with Dr. Mario Sicca, Professor for guitar at the
"Staatliche Hochschule
für Musik und darstellende Kunst" in Stuttgart.
In April 1999 Dieter S. Weiß started to study classical guitar in Stuttgart
with Mario Sicca. Recieving his diploma in March 2003 he finished his study in Stuttgart.
In April 2003 Dieter S. Weiß started a postgraduate study
"künstlerischen Ausbildung"
(KA) at the
University of Music Bodensee
in Trossingen with Michael Raman Hampel.
Between October 2004 and June 2005 Dieter Weiß studied at the
"
Vysoka Skola Muzickych Umeni"
(Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) in Bratislava (Slovak Republic) with Jozef Zsapka (guitar)
and Alexander Jablokov (chamber music). After that he continued his study in Germany.
In October 2006 he finished his studies with the highest reachable result for his solo recital.
During his studies he gave many concerts in
chamber music and also solo recitals.
He took also masterclasses with famous guitarists like Oscar Ghiglia, Costas Cotsiolis,
Pavel Steidl, Tilman Hoppstock, Hubert Käppel, Thomas Müller-Pering, Dale Kavanagh,
Thomas Kirchhoff, Jason Vieaux and Paul Galbraith.
